Interventional MRI: State of the art

Since the introduction of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) into the clinical routine in the early 1980's, it has been used mainly for diagnostic purposes. However, in the last several years, applications have emerged that expand MRI from purely a diagnostic modality to a tool for the guidance of minimally invasive diagnostic and interventional procedures.
