A 35-year-old with development of exophthalmos and blurred
vision.
Diagnosis
Carotid-cavernous fistula
Findings
The axial T1-weighted
image shows an enlarged right superior ophthalmic vein. Sequential
time-resolved contrast-enhanced MR angiography images in the axial
plane show rapid arteriovenous shunting from the right internal
carotid artery to the cavernous sinus and right superior ophthalmic
vein, which again appears dilated.
