Summary:
This healthy 51 y.o female patient presented to an outside hospital with the complaint of back pain. MRI obtained at the outside hospital was read as hypervasculer metastatic disease. The patient was transferred to a tertiary center for properative embolization of the “tumor”. Angiogram performed prior to embolization demonstrated findings consistant with a hemangioma. The lesion was embolized. Further laboratory and imaging work up demonstrated no evidence of primary malignancy and the patient went to the O.R for spinal stabilzation.
