MRI Contrast for the New Millennium: Contrast-Enhanced MR Angiography (CME)
Jeffrey H. Maki, Michael V. Knopp, Martin Prince
Abstract: This article describes the basic principles underlying 3D CE-MRA and demonstrates applications throughout the body. Inherent advantages of 3D contrast MRA over "conventional" MRA techniques, such as time-of-flight (TOF) and phase contrast (PC), will be discussed. Furthermore, we will explore techniques for improving spatial and temporal resolution, reducing respiratory motion artifacts, decreasing contrast dosing, and more accurately timing the contrast bolus. Finally, new contrast agents will be reviewed briefly. It has been approved for three (3) hours of categoy I credit.
