Recent advances in MR have enabled diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), offering new insights into the nature and integrity of ordered brain white matter (WM) pathways. Imaging brain anisotropy can yield useful information about WM integrity and exhibit pathology that is occult to conventional imaging techniques.
