In patients with ARAS manifesting as resistant hypertension or renal insufficiency, percutaneous revascularization should be strongly considered to improve blood pressure control and renal function. Percutaneous stent graft repair of abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a relatively new technique indicated for patients who are at high risk for AAA rupture but are not candidates for conventional surgery. The long-term safety of this technique needs to be demonstrated before it is widely accepted for routine clinical use.
