Our understanding is greatly attributable to the orthopedic literature, which in recent years has focused on the arthroscopic evaluation of this problem. Despite controversy over accuracy and cost-effectiveness,1,2 the roles of conventional magnetic resonance (MR) imaging and MR arthrography have expanded greatly over the last decade.
