After laboratory testing has excluded the various metabolic and hormonal abnormalities that can cause dementia, imaging may be required to make a definitive diagnosis. Many of the possible diagnoses (e.g., frontal lobe tumors, subdural hematomas, and normal pressure hydrocephalus) are treatable. Magnetic resonance imaging and spectroscopy are clearly the preferred techniques for this evaluation, as described in this issue of Applied Imaging.</description><author></author><pubDate>Tuesday, 14 May 2002 19:17:04 GMT</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
