Previously, diagnosis relied on chest radiography and catheter angiography. However, the sensitivity of chest radiographs for acute aortic syndrome (AAS) is limited and now multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) enables noninvasive diagnosis of AAS without invasive catheter angiography. In fact, the MDCT protocol approaches 100% sensitivity and specificity and is accepted as first-line imaging for suspected acute aortic disease. MDCT plays an important role in the diagnosis of AAS.&lt;/p&gt;</description><author></author><pubDate>Monday, 08 Feb 2010 11:36:35 GMT</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
