specificity of diagnosing rotator cuff disorders, decreases the number of
unnecessary arthroscopic procedures, and provides important clinical
information that guides patient management. The authors identify new
observations about the diagnostic effectiveness of shoulder MRI and introduce a
practical search-pattern approach for evaluating the rotator cuff on shoulder
MRI examinations.</p>
