Kheiron Medical launches AI breast cancer screening software at ECR

Kheiron Medical Technologies of London used the venue of the 2019 European Congress of Radiology held in Vienna last month to launch Mia™, a breast cancer screening software product. The system is designed to analyze standard full-field digital mammograms, and serve as an independent second reader in double reading programs in the European Union. It is the first product developed by a company in the United Kingdom to receive the CE Mark and European regulatory approval for deep learning software in radiology.
The company stated in its press release that in addition to commissioning an independent multi-center clinical study to evaluate Mia, it has also launched and is sponsoring additional studies in Europe, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
