RSNA 2015: Hitachi introduces three new XR-29 compliant CT systems

Hitachi Medical Systems America, Inc., has broadened its CT product lines with the introduction of the high-value Supria 16-slice CT system and the new Scenaria SE 64 and SE 128 models. All three systems are Smart-Dose (XR-29) compliant with lower dose patient safety capabilities.

As part of the Scenaria Platform, the new Scenaria SE 64 and SE 128 models enhance workflow through a 40% increase in standard reconstruction speeds—up to 50 images per second—and MPR reconstruction speed with automation of frequent user operator functions. The systems also offer an upgrade of the standard patient table weight capacity to 550 lbs. to accommodate bariatric patients. Dose reduction is further achieved by the 16 cm lateral table movement, bow-tie filter, Automatic Exposure Control (Intelli EC) and new Interactive Processing (Intelli IP advanced). Patient positioning is further simplified with an automatic head/body mode and a 750 mm aperture that maximizes patient comfort while also reducing anxiety and stress.

According to Sheldon Schaffer, VP and General Manager MR/CT at Hitachi, Scenaria SE customers are provided a no-charge upgrade to the platform’s full capabilities for the entire installed base of Scenaria 128 customers, covered by warranty or full service agreements.

The compact Supria 16, which can be sited in a room as small as 200 sq. ft., accommodates a variety of patients, including bariatric, with an open access, 75 cm bore and a standard 1.8 meter scannable range table that provides a 500 lb. weight capacity. Additional specifications include high speed scanning with less than 1 sec/rotation and an effective field of view of 500 mm. Supria 16 features Hitachi’s Iterative Reconstruction Processing (Intelli IP Advanced) for low dose and high image quality. The company’s 3D reconstruction algorithm, CORE, helps reduce artifacts even during high pitch scanning.
