TIMS Medical releases TIMS Consultant 2.0

The TIMS Medical Division of Foresight Imaging has announced the release of TIMS

Consultant 2.0, a system allowing for real-time video and audio collaboration on diagnostic imaging procedures and surgeries. This major upgrade provides a new, HTML5-based thin client for use with internet browsers on laptops, smartphones, and mobile tablets, according to the Chelmsford, MA headquartered division.

TIMS Consultant allows medical professionals in multiple locations to consult and collaborate during a diagnostic imaging procedure. Applications include interventional radiology collaborations, remote fluoroscopy consulting, and real-time ultrasound viewing for consultation and/or to monitor a real-time procedure. The company states that TIMS Consultant can help radiologists be more productive and patient-centric by remotely participating in any radiology procedure as it happens, whether at a reading room or outside the radiology department.

The Version 2.0 upgrade has an interactive, graphical telestration model, which includes LivePoint™ for real-time emphasis, as well as circles, arrows, line segments, and free-hand drawing, all with auto-fade functionality. The upgrade includes workflow models for open and closed rooms. All transmissions are Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encrypted, and user logins are controlled via Active Directory. Audio conferencing and interactive chat is provided for all participants. All users can pause, rewind, zoom, and scrub the video independently and then instantly return to the live session. Multiple room installations are supported.
