AHRA awards 2019 Innovation Award to Konica Minolta Healthcare Americas for DDR

The Association for Medical Imaging Management (AHRA) honored Konica Minolta Healthcare Americas’ Dynamic Digital Radiography, an enhanced technology that captures movement in a single exam, with its 2019 Innovation Award. The inaugural award highlights the most groundbreaking technologies and services being exhibited, and was presented at AHRA’s annual meeting held in Aurora, CA, in July.

DDR produces medical images that depict movement and can be fully annotated, including diagrams, to help radiologists provide a more detailed clinical finding. It enables clinicians to observe the dynamic interaction of anatomical structures, such as tissue and bone, with physiological changes over time. By bringing advanced cineradiography capabilities to digital radiography, and by providing quantifiable clinical information, DDR may increase the quality and specificity of diagnosis, and help clinicians rapidly answer clinical questions resulting in higher individualized care and reduced need for additional tests, according to Konica Minolta.

Konica Minolta launched DDR for pulmonary applications in collaboration with Shimadzu Medical Systems USA at the AHRA annual meeting.
