Pearl Technology launches CT HeadFix

Pearl Technology, a positioning and immobilization device company located in Schlieren, Switzerland, has introduced the CT HeadFix to the United States market. The product offers a comfortable, integrated, fast and hygienic positioning solution for the fixation of the head in a CT head holder, according to the company.

The CT HeadFix is made specifically for head holders manufactured by Siemens Healthineers, but is also compatible with head supports from other CT vendors. It can be combined with an inclined wedge and a forehead strap. A tube clamp provides stability for use with uncooperative patients.

The device is made out of biocompatible polyurethane foil, for sanitary and easy cleaning. It has air and polystyrene pearl chambers that allow for even, symmetrical pressure distribution. A 4 mm welded seam provides stability, even in CT emergency situations.

This class 1 medical device has received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and is also available for sale in Europe and Asia.
