Siemens Healthineers has earned clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for two advanced imaging platforms designed for both radiography and fluoroscopy: the Luminos Q.namix R and Luminos Q.namix T. These multifunctional systems offer a user-centric design to simplify complex imaging workflows while minimizing radiation exposure for patients.

Both platforms incorporate intuitive controls, integrated system components, and AI-supported workflow guidance, enabling faster procedures and potentially reducing wait times while boosting departmental efficiency.

“With these two new platforms, Siemens Healthineers offers the radiography and fluoroscopy communities a long-sought, user-friendly alternative to imaging systems of unnecessarily complex design, which have been a barrier to more efficient workflows,” said Niral Patel, head of X-ray Products at Siemens Healthineers North America.

Unlike many traditional two-in-one rad/fluoro systems, the Luminos Q.namix series was engineered with direct input from over 160 fluoroscopy specialists during a six-year development process. The result is a highly ergonomic, touch-based interface that incorporates automated dose control and workflow enhancements. Live camera features and AI-based assistance help ensure consistently high-quality images at low radiation doses, regardless of the user’s experience level. The next-generation wireless detectors, compatible with other Siemens Healthineers equipment, improve visualization of fine anatomical structures in radiographic imaging.

The Luminos Q.namix R features remote control capabilities, giving users the flexibility to operate the system from the control room or bedside, depending on clinical needs. It’s well-suited for a wide range of fluoroscopy exams—such as gastrointestinal studies, swallow evaluations, and joint injections—as well as general radiographic imaging, including orthopedic procedures like long-leg and long-spine views. A source-to-image distance (SID) of 180 cm (71 inches) helps reduce image distortion, increasing precision and throughput. Its in-room control panel is particularly helpful for pediatric or specialized cases that benefit from hands-on patient interaction.

Designed for settings where patient contact is essential, the Luminos Q.namix T provides tableside control for examinations involving non-ambulatory, pediatric, bariatric, or gastroenterology patients. The system’s multiple touchscreens and the OptiGrip handle allow clinicians to manage imaging parameters and capture fluoro images or loops without losing focus on the patient. Its digital fluoroscopy tower parks automatically, enabling seamless transitions between fluoroscopy and radiography tasks.

Together, these newly cleared platforms reflect Siemens Healthineers’ commitment to optimizing imaging efficiency, safety, and ease of use for a wide range of clinical applications.
