Hologic Showcases Next-Generation AI and Breast Imaging Innovations
December 3, 2025 · McKenna Bryant

Hologic is putting a spotlight on innovation across the breast health continuum, from screening and diagnosis to surgical guidance, driven by its expanding AI and imaging portfolio.
“We're at a transformative time in breast imaging where AI is moving from promise to proven clinical impact. The technologies we're showcasing at RSNA aren't experimental – they're FDA-approved, clinically validated solutions that are already making a difference in real-world practice. What sets Hologic apart is our comprehensive, integrated approach,” said Mark Horvath, President of Breast & Skeletal Health Solutions at Hologic.
AI-Supported Breast Cancer Detection
The Genius AI® Detection PRO is Hologic’s next-generation breast cancer detection AI platform and winner of the 2025 MedTech Breakthrough Award for Best New Imaging Technology Solution. Designed to enhance both clinical outcomes and workflow efficiency, the Genius AI® Detection PRO solution streamlines the entire reading process for providers. It offers an integrated 2D/3D deep learning algorithm, which improves cancer detection performance,[i] along with the ability to read prior mammography images – which increases specificity and positive predictive value, enabling the reduction of false positive recalls.[ii] [iii]

“Now radiologists can use that time to support other cases, and patients can avoid unnecessary anxiety around a potential diagnosis,” Horvath said. “We’ve also found readers using the Genius AI Detection PRO solution experienced a 24% reduction in reading time and perceived fatigue,[iv] making it a go-to choice for clinicians looking to optimize their workflow.”
Fast 3D Scanning
Hologic will also feature the Envision™ Mammography Platform, which delivers the fastest 3D scan time on the market – just 2.5 seconds – without sacrificing image resolution.[v] It’s designed with Tilt technology, which adapts to the contours of a patient’s body and may help with positioning patients who have limited mobility. “The Envision platform can tilt +/-10º in all views and is designed to adapt to every patient contour, in addition to relaxing the pectoral muscle to improve tissue capture.[vi] This isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution, but one designed around individual patient needs,” he said.

In addition, 3DQuorum® Imaging Technology uses Genius AI-powered analytics to uniquely generate 6mm SmartSlices from the original high-resolution 3D™ data. Horvath explained: “SmartSlices are designed to expedite reading time by reducing the number of images to review, with no compromise in image quality, sensitivity or accuracy, while ensuring there is no loss of 3D image data and continuity in scrolling.” [vii, viii,ix]
The Future Is Magnetic
Hologic’s breast surgical portfolio includes the Sentimag® Gen 3 platform, which uses magnetic sensing to detect the Magseed® Marker and Magtrace® Lymphatic Tracer for a seamless physician and patient experience without any of the complications of radioactive solutions. “It’s the only technology currently available to patients that guides surgeons for both localization of tumors and assessing the spread of breast cancer,” said Horvath.

Visitors to the Hologic booth can explore these technologies through interactive workstations and hands-on demonstrations. “We’re not waiting for the future – we’re building it now,” Horvath said. “Whether you're looking to upgrade your imaging capabilities, implement AI for the first time, optimize your existing workflow, or just learn more about the potential of the future of breast health, our team is ready to help.”
