Clarius Mobile Health has announced the release of 30 specialized artificial intelligence (AI) models integrated into Clarius App 13.1, marking the industry's most extensive publicly documented portfolio of integrated AI models. This development is powered by Clarius’ proprietary engine, which allows for the rapid conversion of clinical ideas into working AI models within weeks, emphasizing the company's commitment to delivering advanced intelligence at the point of care.
Since the introduction of its first on-device AI model in 2020, Clarius has significantly increased its AI offerings across various domains, including clinical measurements and educational tools. The current integration of 30 AI models showcases a considerable expansion from the 16 AI technologies available in December 2025, highlighting Clarius' pace of software innovation.
Kris Dickie, Chief Technology Officer at Clarius, stated, "The next era of ultrasound won't be defined by portability alone. It will be defined by intelligence. Thirty models is just the beginning. We've built the technology, expertise, and momentum to continuously advance what handheld ultrasound can do. We're not just making ultrasound more portable. We're redefining what clinicians can expect from it."
Overview of the AI Models
The 30 AI models introduced by Clarius are categorized into three main pillars to enhance the clinical ultrasound experience:
- AI That Enhances Diagnostic Workflow (12 Models): These models automate various steps in clinical measurements, particularly in cardiac imaging, obstetrics, urology, and musculoskeletal medicine. Utilizing AI-assisted ejection fraction assessment and prostate and bladder volume computations, these models aim to reduce manual tasks while ensuring clinician oversight.
- AI That Brings Anatomy to Life (14 Models): Clarius T-Mode™ overlays anatomical illustrations and labels onto live ultrasound images, transforming scans into educational tools that facilitate the recognition of structures and bolster clinicians’ confidence in scanning.
- AI That Simplifies (4 Models): This category includes intelligent preset selections, voice commands, and speech-to-text capabilities that streamline workflows, allowing clinicians to prioritize examinations over technology.
Innovation Platform
Clarius leverages on-device AI processing alongside a proprietary in-house development platform that fosters continuous innovation. The AI models operate directly on compatible smartphones and tablets, allowing functionalities without internet access during scanning. New features can be added through software updates, enhancing existing scanners without necessitating hardware upgrades.
Kris Dickie remarked, "Our proprietary AI development platform has fundamentally changed the pace of innovation. We can move from a clinical idea to a working AI model in a matter of weeks. Combined with our experience bringing regulated AI solutions to market, this allows us to accelerate innovation and put increasingly intelligent ultrasound capabilities into clinicians' hands through software."
Clarius holds a solid regulatory track record, with FDA-cleared AI models and CE-marked capabilities available for European markets. The company's innovations aim to streamline clinical workflows, assist with measurements, and support anatomical education while keeping clinicians firmly in control.
