DocPanel Earns Joint Commission Accreditation for Telehealth Radiology Services

DocPanel Technologies, a subspecialty radiology platform serving academic medical centers, health systems, imaging centers, and private practices nationwide, has earned accreditation from The Joint Commission, the company announced.

The accreditation recognizes compliance with national standards for quality and patient safety in healthcare delivery. According to The Joint Commission, accreditation is awarded following an evaluation process that assesses organizational performance and improves the safety and quality of care.

DocPanel said the accreditation applies to its telehealth radiology services, which connect providers and patients with a network of U.S.-based, fellowship-trained radiologists. The company reports that it works with approximately 150 healthcare organizations nationwide.

In a policy statement published on its website, DocPanel said it adheres to Joint Commission standards for telehealth accreditation and maintains processes related to physician competency, quality monitoring, turnaround times, and communication of critical findings.

"Delegated credentialing allows healthcare organizations to rely on DocPanel's credentialing and physician oversight processes rather than duplicating efforts internally," said Nirish Mathias, DocPanel Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder. "This can help accelerate radiologist onboarding, reduce administrative burden, and support faster activation of subspecialty coverage."

The company’s platform supports interpretation of MRI, CT, ultrasound, mammography, and X-ray studies through a secure telehealth infrastructure, according to company materials.

DocPanel has emphasized the role of subspecialty radiology expertise in improving diagnostic accuracy and reducing delays in care. In prior company statements, CEO and co-founder Nirish Mathias said the organization’s mission is centered on improving patient outcomes through broader access to specialized radiology expertise.

The Joint Commission accredits more than 24,000 healthcare organizations globally and is one of the nation’s largest healthcare accrediting bodies.
