European Radiology Breast Journal Publishes First Articles

The European Society of Radiology (ESR) and the ESR Journals have announced the publication of the inaugural series of articles in European Radiology Breast. This new journal results from collaboration between the ESR and the European Society of Breast Imaging (EUSOBI).

The journal's leadership includes Editor-in-Chief Sophia Zackrisson from Malmo, Sweden, and Senior Deputy Editor Eva M. Fallenberg from Munich, Germany. It aims to provide a platform for showcasing multimodality breast imaging while exploring innovations within the field.

Prof. Minerva Becker, Chair of the ESR Board of Directors, expressed enthusiasm about the journal's launch: “We are delighted to see European Radiology Breast publish its first articles and become a reality through our partnership with EUSOBI. This journal provides the breast imaging community with a dedicated forum to share scientific advances, encourage multidisciplinary collaboration, and shape the future of the field.”

Prof. Ferdia Gallagher, Chair of the ESR Publications Committee, noted this development as an exciting time for the European Radiology journal family. “I have no doubt that this new journal will play an important role in the future of breast imaging and am delighted that Prof. Sophia Zackrisson has agreed to take on the key role of Editor-in-Chief,” he remarked.

Chief Editor of the ESR Journals, Prof. Bernd Hamm, highlighted that “the addition of the new journal reflects the continued evolution of the ESR Journals and further enhances their influence within the radiological community.” He also thanked the authors and reviewers who have contributed to the journal's early stages.

Profs. Zackrisson and Fallenberg emphasized that “[t]he strength of European Radiology Breast lies in the contributions from the breast imaging community, but also in close collaboration with other breast care specialists whose knowledge and dedication will shape its success.”

The first articles are now accessible on Springer Nature, with additional publications anticipated shortly.
