GE HealthCare Launches Invenia ABUS Prime and ABUS StreamVue

GE HealthCare has expanded its breast imaging offerings with the introduction of the Invenia ABUS Prime and ABUS StreamVue. These new solutions aim to enhance supplemental screening for women who have dense breasts, now available following U.S. FDA 510(k) clearance and CE marking. By providing advanced imaging technology and a new enterprise viewer, GE HealthCare seeks to improve access to high-quality breast cancer screenings.

Invenia ABUS Prime, recently introduced at a symposium in the U.S., supports earlier cancer detection when used alongside mammography. It features the innovative cSound Imageformer and AI-powered tools to deliver consistent and high-quality imaging. Among its key enhancements is a Fast Scan tool that accelerates the scan process by up to 40%, designed to improve patient comfort and clinical efficiency. The AI-supported reading is powered by QVCAD, aiming to reduce reading time and increase the sensitivity of lesion detection.

ABUS StreamVue is designed to streamline the review of ABUS exams with its browser-based, zero-footprint application, enabling remote reading across imaging networks. This enterprise solution simplifies the installation and management of multi-site imaging systems, offering adjustable licensing that supports scalable healthcare operations.

Approximately 40% of women have dense breast tissue, which presents challenges for cancer detection through traditional mammograms. Studies indicate that women with dense breasts have a risk of developing breast cancer that is 4 to 6 times higher than those with less dense tissue. In comparative studies, ABUS received positive feedback from participants for providing more acceptable and satisfying imaging experiences compared to other techniques.

This expansion in breast imaging solutions is part of GE HealthCare's strategy to standardize 3D ultrasound acquisition across different sites and to integrate more flexible remote reading capabilities. By providing this technology at BeSound in Los Angeles, GE HealthCare aims to extend access to modern breast imaging services, thereby meeting the needs of patients in diverse healthcare settings.
