HOPPR Enhances AI Capabilities With New Chest CT Model

HOPPR has expanded its AI offerings in medical imaging with the introduction of the HOPPR EF Chest CT Narrative Model, a foundation model designed to enhance the analysis of chest CT scans. This addition, now accessible via HOPPR's Forward Deployed Services, aims to improve the descriptive analysis of complex images in radiology.

Trained on an extensive dataset from multiple U.S. clinical sites, the new model can detail characteristics across several critical areas, including the lungs, heart, aorta, osseous structures, and soft tissues. This comprehensive coverage is crucial for identifying both common and rare conditions such as aortic injury, pulmonary embolism, and pneumothorax, thereby addressing a wide range of clinical scenarios.

Khan Siddiqui, MD, HOPPR's co-founder and CEO, stated, "Chest CT is one of the most information-dense studies in radiology. Getting AI to work well across everything it captures — the lungs, the heart, the aorta — is a genuinely hard problem, and we are pleased with what this model can do."

HOPPR's approach integrates its models with secure, HIPAA-ready infrastructure that supports a diverse range of development and deployment scenarios. Clients benefit from the flexibility to customize these models to suit specific data and clinical workflows, leveraging the expert services provided through HOPPR Forward Deployed Services.

Kevin Kadakia, Chief Operating Officer at RadiologyOne, commented on the flexibility of the model: “The ability to adapt the model to our specific workflow and imaging environment is exactly what we were looking for in a foundation model partner.”

This model joins HOPPR's growing suite of imaging solutions, which spans modalities such as chest X-ray and mammography, highlighting the company's commitment to advancing AI applications in medical imaging. These models facilitate both classification tasks and narrative language generation, expanding the practical use of AI in diagnostic imaging.

HOPPR's AI Foundry platform further complements these models by providing partnerships with AI technology giants like NVIDIA and Google, ensuring that the models operate on robust, compliant systems with traceable workflows. This ecosystem is designed to help partners overcome the challenges of establishing data infrastructure and meeting regulatory requirements in healthcare.
