Nanox.AI Enhances Medical Imaging with Intel's OpenVINO
August 11, 2026 · News Release

Nanox.AI, a division of Nano-X Imaging Ltd., has announced the optimization of its medical imaging artificial intelligence (AI) framework for use with Intel's Core Ultra processors via the OpenVINO toolkit. This development aims to facilitate the deployment of AI applications on on-premises devices within healthcare institutions, thus allowing for the analysis of CT imaging data while maintaining data privacy within the institution's own infrastructure.
The AI framework by Nanox.AI is engineered to analyze routine CT scans, aiding in the identification of chronic condition indicators across cardiac, liver, and bone health areas. This optimization utilizes existing CT imaging workflows to extract additional clinical insights, potentially enhancing preventive care management.
Intel's Core Ultra processors offer a heterogeneous AI architecture that integrates CPU, GPU, and NPU computing resources. OpenVINO supports developers in optimizing and deploying AI workloads on various Intel hardware configurations. This combination helps healthcare facilities to implement local inference at the edge, minimizing the need for cloud connectivity and aligning with the infrastructure requirements of hospitals.
Sharon Saban, General Manager of Nanox.AI, stated, "Nanox.AI is dedicated to enabling healthcare organizations to deploy advanced imaging AI applications efficiently within their existing systems." This collaboration with Intel demonstrates how optimized edge inference can bring AI insights closer to the point of care.
Alex Flores, General Manager of the Health and Life Science, Edge Computing Group at Intel, added, "Nanox.AI’s work with Intel Core Ultra processors and the OpenVINO toolkit highlights how edge AI can facilitate efficient on-premise operation of medical imaging applications, offering a scalable path to implementing AI-driven insights."
