Philips Unveils Latest Imaging Innovations at EuroPCR 2026
May 19, 2026 · News Release

Philips, a leader in health technology, is set to showcase its latest advancements in imaging and guidance technologies at EuroPCR 2026 in Paris. As interventional cardiology faces increasing complexity, the company emphasizes innovations designed to enhance procedural efficiency, reduce radiation exposure, and increase clinical confidence.
During the event, taking place from May 19–22, Philips offers an immersive experience demonstrating how its solutions integrate into a cohesive workflow. This approach addresses the challenges of precision imaging and decision-making in complex procedures while adhering to strict radiation safety standards.
Integrated Imaging for Complex Procedures
Today's percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and structural heart procedures often require the use of multiple imaging systems. Philips' focus is on unifying angiography, intravascular imaging, and physiological assessment to streamline decision-making and procedural execution. Their technologies aim to support clinicians with a comprehensive patient view, minimizing the time-sensitive nature of the interventions.
Innovations on Display
Key innovations making their debut at EuroPCR 2026 include SmartIQ technology, which promises high image quality while significantly lowering X-ray exposure by over 50% compared to existing protocols. The new IntraSight Plus platform integrates a suite of diagnostic and treatment planning tools, facilitating precise and confident PCI procedures.
Additionally, Philips introduces DeviceGuide, an AI-enabled solution providing real-time visualization by merging ultrasound and X-ray images for complex heart procedures, and VeriSight Pro 3D ICE, offering interior heart imaging to support structural heart interventions with reduced invasiveness. The event will also present Hemo R2, a unified interface for hemodynamic functionality and connectivity within hospital IT systems.
Radiation Safety Focus
Philips maintains a keen focus on minimizing radiation exposure through its strategic use of imaging innovations that reduce radiation at the source. Technologies like SmartIQ and others aim to maintain image quality while lowering the dose. These advancements are complemented by solutions such as the instantaneous wave-free ratio (iFR) and intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), which minimize the need for prolonged fluoroscopy.
Educational Initiatives
Philips' participation extends to educational opportunities at the conference. Highlighted sessions include a PCI symposium focusing on clinical decision-making led by experts, and a structural heart symposium, showcasing advanced imaging techniques for procedural planning and execution. A training village will provide hands-on learning areas for clinicians, with sessions focusing on IVUS-guided PCI and case planning.
