Vanderbilt Health and Siemens Healthineers Form $87 Million Partnership for Technology Advancement

In an effort to enhance patient care through technological advancements, Vanderbilt Health and Siemens Healthineers have embarked on a multi-year collaboration valued at $87 million. This strategic partnership aims to modernize and standardize diagnostic imaging and radiation oncology services across Vanderbilt Health’s facilities in the Nashville region. A significant focus will also be placed on workforce development initiatives.
The agreement is set to fortify technological planning and execution, aligning with clinical and operational goals. Through this partnership, Vanderbilt Health will have access to cutting-edge equipment for magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, molecular imaging, interventional radiology, and radiation oncology. This initiative will be implemented at University Hospital and Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, among others.
Jane Freedman, MD, deputy CEO of Vanderbilt Health, highlighted the importance of the venture, stating that the collaboration with Siemens Healthineers would help maintain their position at the forefront of healthcare technology. “Joining with Siemens Healthineers, a world leader in healthcare equipment, will help our health system remain on the cutting edge regarding imaging technology implementation while also offering access to their other innovations,” said Dr Freedman.
The partnership will explore the application of data infrastructure, artificial intelligence advancements, and workflow innovations in radiology and personalized medicine. By integrating scalable AI technologies and automated solutions, the collaboration aims to bolster clinical support and improve operational efficiencies, thereby optimizing patient care models.
John Kowal, president and head of the Americas at Siemens Healthineers, expressed enthusiasm for supporting Vanderbilt Health's commitment to patient-centered care. Kowal emphasized the potential of the partnership to drive innovation and improve care delivery by leveraging Siemens Healthineers' advanced imaging technology and operational expertise.
