International medical imaging IT and cybersecurity company Sectra (STO: SECT B) has entered into an agreement with Mount Sinai Health System in New York to implement Sectra Reporting, the reporting module within Sectra's enterprise imaging solution, Sectra One Cloud. This integration will enable Mount Sinai's radiologists to generate signed reports from the worklist without the need for switching between different systems, effectively reducing report turnaround times.
Dr. David S. Mendelson, Vice Chair of Radiology Information Technology at Mount Sinai Health System, stated, "Radiologists read the image and write the report as one task, and their tools should work the same way. With Sectra Reporting as an integral part of our PACS, reporting evolves together with the imaging platform, and new capabilities, including AI, reach our radiologists without yet another system to integrate."
Mount Sinai is the first health system in the United States to partner with Sectra for radiology reporting. The Sectra Reporting system integrates imaging, AI, and reporting functionalities within a single platform. As one of the leading integrated academic health systems in the nation, Mount Sinai operates seven hospitals, over 400 outpatient practices, more than 600 research and clinical laboratories, and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Incorporating Sectra Reporting into its existing technology framework is expected to decrease vendor complexity and streamline IT management.
The seven-year contract, finalized in the second quarter of Sectra's 2026/2027 fiscal year, encompasses all radiology services, addressing more than 1.2 million exams annually. The implementation is scheduled for spring 2027.
Isaac Zaworski, President of Sectra, Inc., remarked, "Reporting belongs where the images are. At Sectra, it's part of the same system. Mount Sinai's decision to adopt Sectra Reporting reflects a broader shift toward unified diagnostic workflows, and we look forward to demonstrating what that means for radiologists managing fewer applications and patients who benefit from faster turnaround."
The Sectra Reporting solution allows radiologists to dictate reports seamlessly as the system structures them automatically, reviews AI-generated impressions, and conducts quality checks to identify inconsistencies prior to finalization.
Sectra's enterprise imaging solution aims to provide a comprehensive approach to imaging needs while reducing operational costs. The scalable, modular design, centered around a Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA), facilitates healthcare providers' growth across specialties and institutions.
